منهج البحث في الكتاب الكتاب الحاضر، قبل أن يكون كتابًا تاريخيًّا صرفًا، هو متنٌ تحليليّ تاريخيّ. أوّل مرّة طُرحت فيه فكرة (إنسان بعمر 250 سنة) كان أوّل طرح لهذا المفهوم الكبير والمتقدّم بعنوان “إنسان بعمر 250 سنة” من قبل الإمام الخامنئي دام ظله في المؤتمر العالميّ للإمام الرّضا عليه السلام عام 1986م. الفكرة المركزية في الكتاب الفكرة المركزيّة التي تبتني عليها هذه الرّؤية هي النظر إلى الأئمّة عليهم السلام على أنّهم شخصٌ واحدٌ يحيا بأهدافٍ واضحة ومحدّدة على المستوى المرحليّ والاستراتيجيّ، ويسعى دون كللٍ أو ملل للوصول إلى هذه الأهداف. المقصود بالمواجهة السياسيّة الحادة للأئمّة عليهم السلام الجهاد السياسيّ عبارة عن مواجهة ذات هدفٍ سياسيّ. فما هو ذاك الهدف السياسيّ؟ هو عبارة عن تشكيل “حكومة إسلاميّة” وبحسب تعبيرنا “حكومة علويّة”.
